Introduction
Dow Schofield Watts Business Recovery LLP has been instructed by the directors to assist in the sale of an independent conformity assessment business specialising in identity and age
checking systems and certification solutions.
Due to the financial position of the company, it is anticipated that a sale of the business and assets will be completed through a formal insolvency procedure.

Background
The company is based in the Northwest and is a UKAS accredited conformity assessment body, comprised of auditors, certification specialists and data protection experts. The business
independently tests and certifies online and offline systems that check age and identify, such as passport scanners, biometric technology, and age verification software.

The services provided include:

• Age assurance certification – testing of age check systems through evaluation, analysis and testing with end
  certification provided;
• ID assurance certification – testing of e-ID and validation systems through evaluation, analysis and testing with end
  certification provided;
• Data and Privacy – certification of clients systems and processes to ensure compliance with globally recognised standards;
• Management systems ISO certification;
• Training and qualifications for retail staff, compliance officers and law enforcement officers.

Business highlights

• Turnover for the years ended 31 December 2021 and 2022 of £685k and £1m respectively;
• Tested and functional ICT system and platform;
